MarcoPolo Line convention in Athens

On 20-24 September 2019 the 12th Annual Conference of MarcoPolo Line members took place in Athens.

This annual meeting is organised to help members meet each other, use the networking and discuss the future of our branch.

This year very popular topic mentioned by many speakers was digitalisation and automation in logistics – both in freight companies and their clients. This challenge comes up very often in many meetings of freight forwarders. We also feel how important is the topic and have been preparing for the coming changes.

A very important moment of the first day was when the members of the board of MarcoPolo Line handed the special prize for those agents, who have been members of the network for ten years. We are very glad to be one of the recipients of this special distinction.

Next two and half days were dedicated to face-to-face meetings. Each of almost 250 companies participating in the B2B part had minimum a dozen of such meetings. We were asked mostly about our experience in rail transport China – Europe – China. Our partners were interested in details, prices, limitations involved with character of the transported goods, LCL services. That was especially interesting for agents from Italy, France and Middle Europe.

We are very pleased that Real Logistics enjoyed the opinion of an expert in matters of the New Silk Road. We also see this tendency in our sales statistics, where the number of requests for an offer and the number of rail freight is increasing significantly.
